| Job Description: | deGruchy Masonry stabilized a moving wall by removing the previously installed Portland based pointing mortar that was trapping water in the bedding mortar and causing the walls to swell. We had to number and dismantle some stonework and then re-lay the stone in NHL lime/sand mortar. We installed through bolts with decorative escutcheons and then repointed with lime mortar and grouted the cavity with a lime/casein formula to create perfect breathability which allows moisture and vapor to escape naturally. | |||||||||||
